The Tyenna River has more trout per metre than any other river in Tasmania. Our guest Jeremy had never used a fly fishing rod before but he had fished a few times in his home State of California. Jeremy was keen to give it a go and after a couple dozen warm up casts on the grass he got stuck into the river. His casting was excellent for a beginner and he managed to stay clear of the bush most of the time. We both saw one nice sized trout in the shallows and Jeremy hooked what I would describe as a large trout (over 1 kilo) based on the arc of the rod. However the big one got away this time. We had a great time on the river and Jeremy has the concentration and patience of a fly fisherman. Thanks for a great afternoon Jeremy.
